During late 1966 and early 1967 my Mom and I lived in Bispham in the apartment on top of the bank. It stood on the seafront right on top of the cliffs. There was a flat roof and a ladder to climb up there. From the top you could look east and see the Pennines, north and see the Lake District, west and see the Isle of Man and south to North Wales. Of course you had to look around the tower. What fabulous views they were. Everyday I would ride the tram to go to work at the Dolphin Bar. I still remember those stiff breezes that would take a person's breath away. The air seemed so fresh. The windows were facing the Irish Sea were almost frosted from the force of the salt air against them. That was a long time ago now but those days will stay with me always.
